What to Pack

Inverdoorn Game Reserve is situated in the Karoo, which is a semi-arid desert, and the climate is perfect for all kinds of activities. The temperatures can be extreme during the summer months, and while you will be perfectly comfortable in our cool and comfortable accommodation, you will need to take extra care while on safari.

If you are spending the night to experience an early-morning safari, the ranger will supply you with a blanket should you need it; but it is advisable to bring along an extra layer that you can remove once the day starts to get warm.

We have compiled a list of essentials which day and overnight visitors should bring along on their safari adventure:

• Wide-brimmed sun hat
• UVA/UVB Sunglasses
• SPF 30+ sun block
• Bottled water – on sale at the lodge as well
• Light clothing
• Comfortable closed shoes
• Binoculars for the safari
• Swimming costume
• Sandals for the poolside

Guests enjoy the sense of remoteness that Inverdoorn evokes, but those who enjoy technology need not fear being cut off from the rest of the world. So bring along your iPad or laptop as the lodge is wired for Wi-Fi.

Should you have forgotten any of the above-mentioned essentials, especially the hat or sunblock, be assured that Inverdoorn has thought of everything and these items are on sale in the curio shop. While you are browsing, you might even find an unusual souvenir or interesting gift to take home with you.
