Inverdoorn Game Reserve and Iziba Safari Lodge is situated in the dry heartland of South Africa – an entirely malaria-free, Big 5 game reserve. There are areas further north that are unfortunately not malaria-free; but Inverdoorn guarantees you a safari adventure with maximum comfort, in the full knowledge that you will leave as malaria-free and healthy as the day you arrived.

At Inverdoorn Game Reserve your comfort is paramount. While the climate and conditions of the Karoo ensure that you will be malaria-free, we provide further ease and tranquility by offering mosquito nets and other repellents.

South Africa is one of the safest safari destinations in Africa. With ease of access to modern medical facilities, you can rest assured in the knowledge that professional medical assistance is on hand 24 hours a day.

Tap water is safe to drink in cities, but you may be more comfortable drinking bottled water in the rural areas. At Inverdoorn the tap water is safe to drink, but both options are available to you.

You should bring along sufficient water from the lodge on safari as there are no water points on the game reserve. Protection from the sun with a wide-brimmed hat and sun block is also recommended. The curio shop does stock both if you have forgotten to bring yours along.

If you want to avoid the possibility of contracting malaria, you should choose Inverdoorn Game Reserve and Iziba Safari Lodge.

1 200 Reasons

More than 1 200 animals roam free over the vast plains of the Ceres Karoo at Inverdoorn Game Reserve. Comprised of 28 different species guests will encounter various animals – from hippo, giraffe and impala to springbok, wildebeest and bat-eared foxes. In addition, more than 80 species of birds soar through the skies.

The Cheetah and the Big 5

The cheetah has a special place in the hearts of all those who work at the game reserve. These magnificent big cats can be seen on safari; being taken through routine runs reaching speeds of up to 120km/h and encountered in exclusive interactions.
