What to Pack?

Inverdoorn Game Reserve is situated in the Karoo, which is a semi-arid desert, and the climate is perfect for all manner of activities. The temperatures can be extreme during the summer months, and while you will always be perfectly comfortable in the finest cool and comfortable accommodation, you will need to take just an extra bit of care while out on safari.

If you are spending the night to experience an early-morning safari, the ranger will supply you with a blanket should you need it; but it is advisable to bring along an extra layer that you can remove once the day starts to heat up.

We have compiled a list of essentials which day and overnight visitors should bring along on their safari adventure:

• Wide-brimmed sun hat
• UVA/UVB Sunglasses
• SPF 30+ sun block
• Bottled water – on sale at the lodge as well
• Light clothing
• Comfortable closed shoes for safari walks
• Binoculars for the safari drive
• Swimming costume / trunks
• Sandals for the poolside

Guests enjoy the sense of remoteness that Inverdoorn invokes, but those who enjoy technology need not fear being cut off from the rest of the world. So bring along your iPad or laptop as the lodge is wired throughout for Wi-Fi.

Should you have forgotten any of the above-mentioned essentials, especially the sun hat or sun block, be assured that Inverdoorn has thought of everything and these items are on sale in the curio shop; and while you are browsing, you might find an unusual souvenir or interesting gift to take home with you.
