Inverdoorn Big 5 Safaris

A Big 5 Experience at a 5 star Game Reserve 2.5 hours from Cape Town

Inverdoorn Game Reserve stretches across 10 000 hectares of the Ceres Karoo and is home to a growing number of free-roaming wild animals. Inverdoorn is a Big 5 game reserve with a special interest in cheetah conservation. Since 2001 their organisation, Cape Cheetah, has been rescuing these magnificent cats and today provides sanctuary to 14 cheetahs.

The game reserve offers day and overnight packages that include game drive seeking antelope, giraffe, hippo, zebra, the Big 5 and several other species.

Given the vast area that is traversed, and the unpredictable nature of the animals, it is not always possible to locate all the animals; but the skilled rangers know just where to look and will do their best to track them down.

Day Safari Package

lionCape Barbary LionIf you are pressed for time, a day trip to Inverdoorn is the perfect option. You will enjoy a mid-morning safari filled with the sights and sounds of the bush. You can choose to drive to Inverdoorn yourself or make use of the shuttle service from Cape Town to the lodge. If you drive yourself it is advised you arrive at 10:00 as the safari departs at 10:30. Day trippers enjoy a safari looking for herds of giraffes, zebra and antelope while dedicated rangers share anecdotes about the game reserve and its inhabitants. You will also have the chance to look for  animals such as lions, elephants and hippos before returning to the lodge for a buffet lunch. Served in our Succulent Garden, beneath the shade of  a giant Eucalyptus tree, you will have a chance to relax and share your experience with other guests. After a leisurely lunch that may include surprise guests, you will be back on the scenic road to Cape Town.
