In Spring, South Africa boasts one of the most impressive wildflower displays in the world. Inverdoorn Game Reserve, a luxurious nature sanctuary in the heart of the Ceres Karoo, plays host to an arresting array of flowers that coat its glorious landscape in a carpet of spectaculalry vivid colour. Inverdoorn lies at the gates of the Karoo. The reserve is a tranquil haven in desert terrain, surrounded by vast open spaces, majestic mountains (often scapped with snow in spring and winter), lakes and shrubbery. The area is an endless stony plain covered in the most beautiful array of daisies; small Euphorbias, Acacia, Eucalyptus and succulent scrubs. There are more than 650 plant species in the reserve, all opf which are endemic to their environment. The high altitude mountain scenery of Ceres is also the playground of 165 species of magnificent birds from the tiny Fairy Warbler to the Fish Eagle.
