Inverdoorn Game Reserve and Iziba Safari Lodge is located in the Little Karoo, South Africa's semi-arid desert. Travel just two and a half hours outside of Cape Town and you'll find, stretching over 10 000 hectare, Inverdoorn, the largest safari game reserve in the region providing sanctuary to over 1 200 free-roaming wild animals. Grazing leisurely through the succulent treasure-trove that characterizes the floral diversity of the Karoo you'll find a myriad of buck including Wildebeest, Kudu, Eland and Oryx. You will be captivated by the monochrome markings of the Zebra or the graceful, loping gate of the 15-strong herd of giraffe, the brute power of the buffalo herd and the majestic beauty of our male Cape Barbary lion.

You could observe the animals from atop the safari vehicle or from lookout points dotted throughout the reserve; or if you're lucky a family of skittish meerkat, peering out from their burrows; a rare Bat-eared Fox rooting in the scrub for a juicy dung beetle or even a cheetah or two being walked around the game lodge by their handlers. The rangers add a rich element of humour to the safari with anecdotes of the animals' antics and personalities.

At Inverdoorn, conservation is key. It is the home of the Western Cape Cheetah Conservation, which was founded in 2001, and aims to rehabilitate rescued cheetahs in order to release them back into the wild. Inverdoorn has also taken necessary and significant measures to protect their rhinos and is a founding member of RhinoProtect, which introduced a revolutionary horn treatment to protect them from potential poachers. The game reserve endeavors to create a home as close to all the animals' natural environments as possible in order to provide them with the freedom they deserve, while simultaneously doing everything in their power to protect and conserve them.

Inverdoorn provides a sought after Big 5 safari experience, in close proximity to Cape Town, but also spearheads conservation initiatives such as the cheetah rehabilitation organisation Western Cape Cheetah Conservation set up to protect this endangered cat. The RhinoProtect movement is the most recent conservation effort initiated by Inverdoorn. RhinoProtect will endeavour to counter the effects of poaching by rolling out its pioneering horn treatment to game reserves across the country.
